HP
DeskJet Printers for the Mac
Continuing its long partnership providing Macintosh
connectivity for Hewlett-Packards inkjet printers,
Palomar is now providing Mac OS 9
software for HPs latest model printers, software that
is distributed by HP.
HPs Color Printers
HP DeskJet 900 Series
In August 2000, Hewlett-Packard announced its latest in its
900 series printers
These join the previous generation of high-resolution
color inkjet printers:
All feature high-quality photo output, and all are
support an auto-duplexer for two sided printing (included
with the 970C; optional with the other printers).
The HP PhotoSmart printers
have similar capabilities, but also include the ability to
read memory cards for popular digital cameras.
Other Desktop Printers
In the year 2000, HP released these other color inkjet
printers featuring printer software developed by
Palomar:
Portable Printers
In April, HP officially announced the HP DeskJet
350C portable printer. This printer is available with a
USB adaptor cable for the Apple iBook and current generation
PowerBook models equipped with USB.
Macintosh Software
Mac OS 9
The Macintosh software for these printers includes:
- HP DeskJet printer extension (current version 5.5):
developed by Palomar integrating technology from
Hewlett-Packard;
- DeskJet 900 Series Utility (current version 5.5):
developed by Intriguing
Development using technology from Palomar and
Hewlett-Packard.
This supports all Mac OS systems from 8.6 to 9.2.2, and OS X under classic.
