photosmart printers
Continuing its long partnership providing Macintosh
connectivity for Hewlett-Packard’s inkjet printers,
Palomar is now providing software for HP’s
photosmart series printers, which incorporate both
high-quality printing and the ability to upload photos from
popular digital cameras.
Supported Models
The photosmart printers supported on the Mac are:
The P1100 and 1218 come with a standard two-sided
printing module that is fully supported from the
Macintosh.
When connected via USB to a Macintosh, all four printers
support both printing and uploading of digital photos from
Smart Media or
CompactFlash
memory cards. The 1215 and 1218 also support printing via
IrDA, or via AppleTalk with an optional JetDirect
network adapter.
Macintosh Software
The photosmart printers leverage off the printing
technology in the HP DeskJet
900 series, and support the same paper sizes, media
types and print qualities as those printers.
The PhotoSmart software for the Macintosh was developed
by Palomar in partnership with Intriguing
Development, and also incorporates technology from
Hewlett-Packard.
The Macintosh software for these printers includes:
- hp photosmart printer extension
- photosmart utility
- photosmart photo saver
- photosmart library
- photosmart monitor
The current version of the software is 5.5.
